When the voice in your head no longer stays silent, then …

you, as a DJ, make the crowd go wild,

you suddenly find there are two of you in your head,

you let yourself be trained like a horse,

you constantly feed yourself peas and stuff yourself with them until you eventually burst and start pelting the audience with them,

you are part of the party, whether you want it or not.

 

When the voice in your head no longer stays silent, then …

you, as a whore and loving mother, always have your dark shadow with you,

cheap gold jewelry makes your eyes glisten,

you, as an attractive neighbour, deliver a fiery plea for the role of women in society,

you have passionate sex while George Michael softly croons “Careless Whisper” in the background,

you dive into every party to escape reality.

 

When the voice in your head no longer stays silent, then …

you fantasize about virtue and morals, and yet you are the most godless of them all,

you flatter your own intellectual hubris so much that you exist three times over,

you feel yourself with your liquor-breath and your shiny red shirt as the sexiest guy of the evening,

you constantly collect trash, no matter what happens around you,

you get off as a police officer on the most beautiful of murders,

you peddle as a well-known city dealer everything that makes the voice in your head fall silent,

but you too are ultimately just part of the party.

 

When the voice in your head not stays silent, then …

you run through the streets like crazy,

for you there remains only the path to the dealer,

you suddenly feel like a fish gasping for air,

you no longer expect applause (and you will still get it in the end),

you are the victim of a bar fight,

you are only a bystander at others' party.

 

When the voice in your head does suddenly fall silent, then …

the party goes on anyway – but without you!
