„Transformation is as necessary as the renewal of leaves in spring.“
Vincent van Gogh

In late summer 2019 the Rahlstedt Gymnasium was also completed with the outdoor area, so that on 14 September 2019 the overall completion could be celebrated officially.

Much has changed at the Rahlstedt Gymnasium in recent years.

Of course, the new buildings are immediately noticeable. A few years ago the aging sports halls gave way to a modern multipurpose hall, the “Forum Gymnasium Rahlstedt”, which, in addition to a three-court gym with an integrated stage, also houses a new cafeteria and a large foyer.

In 2014 followed the opening of our new main building, in which, besides numerous natural and cultural science rooms, are also the administration and the new atrium.

In 2017 the final construction phase was completed — now all classrooms are located in a spacious building complex. All remaining buildings will soon make room for even more garden and schoolyard areas.

Here you see, in comparison, the old and the current school grounds from above:

2017:

Alongside the architectural changes, there has also been a change of staff. Both longtime principal Volker Wolter and deputy principal Jürgen Hamann have left the school to retire with well-deserved rest.

Since 2017 our new principal Florian Frankenfeld and his deputy Philip Roeckner have taken the helm.

In recent years we were able to hire around 10 new colleagues for each school year, and this trend will continue.
