The Internationality Profile (S3) has just spent two intensive weeks. First, our students again participated in the international politics simulation Model United Nations of Hamburg (MUNoH) at Gymnasium Meiendorf. Here they discussed solutions to global political issues in English and made contact with young people from in and outside the country – this year among others from Cyprus, Turkey and Italy.
The ceremonial opening on Wednesday in front of over 200 guests this year received a special highlight: Even Hamburg's Education Senator Mrs. Bekeris did not fail to attend the ceremony, and appeared visibly “impressed” by the professionalism and enthusiasm of the participants. Afterwards the students debated intensively in the various committees until the closing ceremony on Saturday, before Monday initially brought a bit of calm back into everyday life.
As the best delegates at MUNoH were honored: Helia Ebadollatri Kalkoran, Fiona Mackel (Best Delegates), Rolex Chiana, Emma Schmidt, Kawsar Mohammadi (Most Distinguished Delegates).
After this short breather, we continued directly on a profile trip to London, where we spent a varied and inspiring week together. We visited, among other things, Agatha Christie’s The Mousetrap at St Martin’s Theatre and went on a Multicultural Walk in the East End to learn about various cultural and historical influences on London. This trip offered not only exciting impressions and unforgettable memories, but also numerous opportunities to live up to our profile idea.
