From farmers, sailors, and a street musician: invitation to the spring concert on April 9, 2025

Do you know the story behind the worldwide hit “Dance Monkey”, which our choir and the band from class 5 will perform?

Australian street musician Toni Watson experienced firsthand what it feels like when, precisely those people who try to harass her or steal her money want her to keep singing and playing for them. The song, which she wrote from frustration about annoying fans in half an hour, is about this pressure in the music business. The final polish was then produced in the studio, and the international spread followed in 2019 on its heels. To this day the song lives on in many cover versions on social networks because of its distinctive rhythm—and, of course, in any form of street music. So the circles close…

That’s just one of the stories that will be told to us at our annual spring concert. Which one will there be, I wonder? Please come by and let yourself be surprised by the announcements of our hosting team from class 5!

Admission is free. Donations for a UNESCO project are welcome.

From 5:30 PM and during the break, the upper school profile Internationality (S2) will sell cakes, snacks and drinks.

Under the overall direction of Mr. Krösser, our music practice courses from class 5, ensembles, bands and choirs will perform. The dance club under the direction of Kaila Bulanik will also be joining again. We look forward to seeing you!
