How can moments of happiness be photographed, and what does happiness actually mean? That was the question of this year's photography competition “Großes Glück” for all Hamburg schools. 150 award-winning works were exhibited on March 4 at Fotofabrique in Hamburg's Gängeviertel. The GyRa was represented as well: With her photo “Mee(h)r Glück” Sofia Glatzel from class 7d was selected from 653 submitted works and was able to receive her certificate at the opening ceremony – a nice recognition of her creative work!
With the help of a self-timer, Sofia was able to capture the perfect moment: Jumping toward the sea, the protagonist casts a bluish shadow that artfully blends into the shapes of the sea foam. The sky is cloudless and summery; mountains can be seen in the background. If you look at this image for a while, contagious joie de vivre is transmitted: Everything seems possible if you only muster the courage for it. In this sense: Congratulations, Sofia!
