Our fifth RaMUN conference was held again internally at the school this year – with two welcomed guests from the Gymnasium Meiendorf, who integrated seamlessly into the debates. As with every MUN conference, the delegates worked in formal Dress Code, debated in English, and followed the usual UN procedures.
The S3 Organizing Team ensured a structured and smooth flow, as well as experience and expertise in the debates. The S1 Delegates took part in a MUN conference for the first time and presented themselves as promising prospects who quickly familiarized themselves with the debates. Several tenth graders also took the opportunity to gain first impressions and participate actively in discussions. Numerous spectators from various classes followed the sessions attentively.
The two committees dealt with current topics: Children’s Rights in Gaza and Israel and Women’s Rights in Iran. A special program point was the Live broadcast to Stéphanie Toschi, Counsellor of Human Rights of the Luxembourg UN representation in New York. She spoke about how important it is, especially in difficult global times, to take an interest in politics and diplomacy – for professionals as well as for young people.
After the Closing Ceremony, the day ended in a relaxed round with a joint Pizza Evening – in keeping with our profile motto “work hard – play hard” and a successful closing of a well-rounded RaMUN conference.
