Our fifth RaMUN conference was held school-internal again this year – with two welcome guests from the Gymnasium Meiendorf, who blended seamlessly into the debates. As with every MUN conference, the delegates worked in the formal dress code, debated in English, and followed the usual UN procedures.

The S3 Organizing Team ensured a structured and smooth flow as well as experience and expertise in the debates. The S1 delegates participated in a MUN conference for the first time and showed themselves as promising prospects, who quickly found their footing in the debates. Several 10th graders also took the opportunity to gain first impressions and actively join the discussion. Numerous audience members from various classes followed the sessions attentively.

The two committees dealt with current topics: Children’s Rights in Gaza and Israel as well as Women’s Rights in Iran. A special program item was the live link to Stéphanie Toschi, Counsellor of Human Rights of the Luxembourgish UN representation in New York. She reported on how important it is, especially in difficult global times, to be interested in politics and diplomacy – for professionals as well as for young people.

After the Closing Ceremony, the day ended in a relaxed round at the joint Pizza Evening – in keeping with our profile motto “work hard – play hard” and a successful concluding highlight of a well-rounded RaMUN conference.
