Ten strangers get invited to Soldier Island in Devon, England, by a mysterious host.
Among them are the two housekeepers, Mr. and Mrs. Rogers, as well as the newly
employed secretary, Vera Claythorne. She is admired by multiple of the present men, the
young and thoughtless Anthony Marston and middleaged and sometimes overconfident
Captain Lombard.
But there are also some elderly people on the island: Emily Brent, a very religious
and conservative woman, General MacKenzie, an ex-military general, who still mourns
the death of his wife, and Sir Lawrence Wargrave, a man who used to be a very good
judge (at least in his opinion).
Another guest is William Blore, whom you might meet under the name of Davis at first.
And lastly, Dr. Armstrong, a nerve specialist and former emergency surgeon is
rounding off the group.
They seemingly have not much in common, until it is revealed that each of them
has an unlawful past and they all get accused of murder.
As the weather starts to get worse, they realize that they are completely cut off
from the rest of the world.
And then something terrible happens: One by one, they start to die by unnatural
causes, according to an old nursery rhyme. It becomes clear that the killer must be one
of them – but who?
